The Pharmaceutical industry is one of the fastest growing sectors of both the domestic and global sectors of economy. The pharmaceutical market in India is likely to triple in the next decade and is expected to outshine any other industry in terms of growth. In the Post-GATT era India is becoming a preferred destination for contract manufacturing for pharmaceuticals and clinical trials. The recently circulated vision 2020 document for Pharmaceutical Industry states that by the year 2020 pharmaceutical market is anticipated to grow to USD 1.3 trillion with E-7 countries- Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia and Turkey accounting for one fifth of this share. This document also focuses on the need of total health care packages and direct to consumer distribution channels, in addition to focus on R & D in the areas if drugs and drug delivery systems. This would require an unprecedented number of well qualified and trained pharmacists to achieve these goals and changing markets.

Pharmacy profession contour are changing and there has been shift from manufacturing to clinical Trials, Pharmaceutical product detailing, pharmacovigilance, bioinformatics and many more. Pharmacist being a prescriber to health advisor, analyzer, researcher, innovator, and scientist achieves all these dreams at Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology (Pharmacy).

The RKGIT (Pharmacy) aims to impart high quality education and training to its students to make them technologically prepared to face the challenges and provide innovative solutions to the medical problems facing the community. This has been made possible by the creation of world class infrastructure and talented and experienced faculty at RKGIT (Pharmacy).
